  • What excites you most about your research?

Using my research to solve real world problems for business. Our work will help the business make informed decisions on allocation of capital for infrastructure hardening. By using real data and advanced stochastic modeling techniques we hope to save the state and the business unnecessary expenses in some areas, and perhaps focus additional resources where they are needed.

  • What’s the most valuable aspect of your research for people and communities?

Improved capital allocation in infrastructure hardening will reduce the chance of unexpected outages during storm events. This will have far reaching impact on our communities. Further, the techniques we develop may have additional uses in other applications such as roadway maintenance, water distribution and energy pipeline infrastructure. All of these aspects touch our lives every day.

Research focus: Business Analytics, Financial Services, Management Consulting, Optimization, Operations Management, Simulation, Supply Chain Management, Service Operations, Stochastic Modeling.
