  • What excites you most about your research?

Working to improve the skills of hydrological and hydrodynamic modelling to predict the flow/inundation frequency and magnitude is a rewarding experience. Leading the development of novel methodologies, concepts and datasets compared to the state-of-art makes our work impact greatly the daily life of numerous people and environment we live in.

  • What’s the most valuable aspect of your research for people and communities?

Flood extreme flow prediction, inundation mapping and flood risk analysis are not only related to scientific discovery but also directly related to public awareness, human health and environmental protection. When the predictive tools are accurate and reliable, people and communities can be informed, protected and engaged regarding their everyday lives as well as future living conditions.

Research focus: Hydrological Modelling, Remote Sensing Parameter Retrieval, Flood Risk Analysis.
