Our high-resolution weather forecasting system uses the WRF-ARW 4.2.2 model to generate detailed five-day forecasts across the Eastern and Northeastern United States. The system combines coarse and nested grids to provide regional-scale forecasting at resolutions down to 4 × 4 km, supporting more localized analysis of weather conditions.
Forecast outputs include 2-meter air temperature, 10-meter wind speed, wind gust potential, and accumulated precipitation, with forecast maps available for both the Eastern U.S. and Northeast U.S. The model is driven by NCEP/GFS atmospheric and sea-surface temperature data and incorporates high-resolution land-use, soil, and topographic information.
